We LOVE NYC and we definitely love Social Media Week. There is so much benefit from going to a conference like this. Not only incredible networking but knowledge from industry professionals. The theme of the New York session was Storytelling and Social Listening. The first day Megan ventured into the city on the subway and arrived at the Sheraton Hotel in Time Square. She was delighted to find a light breakfast, tea and coffee waiting for her. There were four auditoriums and several small conference rooms that were used for smaller summits as well as in depth teachings. During the day there were over 40 presentations from industry leaders and experts. Companies like Buzz Feed, Mailchimp, Pintrest, CNN, Ikea, Franks Red Hot, Shake Shack and Grey all took the stage to share industry standards, upcoming trends, and best practices with us fellow marketers. Social listening is a very hot topic and encompases listening to your client and customers needs, wants, and interests.
