Leaving the tourist attractions of Cancun and The Riviera Maya you begin to experience the real Mexico. On the way to Belize just at the southern end of the Mexican Yucatan Peninsula is a long sweet-water lake called Laguna Bacalar. It’s truly a sailors paradise and is also known as the Lake of Seven Colors. This year even in the mist of heavy rains this sunning terrain did not disappoint.
The MAU crew stayed at an amazing Air BnB villa nestled in the hills on the southern side of the lake.
We used a rainy morning to shoot Lingerie and T-shirts from Never Canary. Then in the afternoon we shot bathing suit in our infinity pool. Even with overcast sky the photos we captured were incredible. The blue water is something that you must see for yourself. We cannot wait to have more owners and designers with us next year to experience it for themselves.
The second day we rented a Catamaran for shooting and sailing. This really gave the team a glimpse of sailing (it’s harder than it looks).
The lake is crystal clear and warm, a skinny dip in the middle of the night after a few hours of celebrating our shoots of the weekend. Bacalar is how life is meant to be lived.
